The North Shore Synagogue Choir - Anyone can have a go!
The North Shore Synagogue has a regular monthly choir on Shabbat Mevarchim Hachodesh. This choir also performs on various other occasions such as Shul functions, weddings, and of course High Holydays and festivals.
The North Shore Synagogue Choir is renowned for its camaraderie and enjoyable rehearsals, whilst constantly learning and striving for excellence.
Under the tutelage of the musically gifted and acclaimed Dr Joseph Toltz, our Musical Director, our choir is constantly growing in its musical ability.
The North Shore Synagogue has a proud musical history, and is today one of the few synagogues in Australia that has a strong liturgical tradition that includes prayers set to melodies composed by the like of Lewandowski, Mombach, Wasilkowski, and many more. We also have recently been adding more contemporary melodies from composers like Carlebach and Shwekey.
Our choir is always open to new interested Choristers, why not come along and ‘give it a go’!
