Styled on the internationally renowned TED talks, The North Shore Synagogue launched a series of lectures in 2017 referred to as JTED. Prominent speakers are invited to address topics of relevance in our society.

Guests invited to address our community have included the CEO of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies Vic Alhadeff, the Federal Member for Bradfield, the Hon Minister for Urban Infrastructure Paul Fletcher, and Chair of the ABC Justin Milne. In 2019 our first guest for the year was Alex Ryvchin, co-CEO of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry. He highlighted world-wide changes in the political landscape under the title “The Age of Populism and Polarisation- What it means for the Jews?”

On Wednesday 7th August we welcomed Jeremy Jones AM who gave us a fascinating account of his work in interfaith dialogue in Australia and on a global level. For over 30 years Jeremy has been building relationships with Islamic, Christian and other religious groups. He also commented on the current state of Anti-Semitism in the many countries that he visits regularly around the world in the course of his work.
